Chula Vista, CA — Chula Vista City Attorney Candidate Bart Miesfeld has received the endorsement of the Chula Vista Police Officers Association (CVPOA), representing the men and women serving in the Chula Vista Police Department.

In announcing their support, CVPOA President David Oyos stated, “Chula Vista’s law enforcement officers and first responders need a City Attorney that will have our backs. Bart Miesfeld, with the highest integrity, has always supported our officers and will do what is needed to keep our neighborhoods safe. Bart has unrivaled experience and is clearly the most qualified candidate in the race. The Chula Vista Police Officers’ Association proudly endorses Bart Miesfeld for Chula Vista City Attorney.”

The endorsement from CVPOA adds to a list of numerous public safety officials supporting Miesfeld’s campaign, including former Chula Vista Fire Chief Jim Geering and former Chula Vista Police Chief David Bejarano. CVPOA also joins fellow groups representing the hard-working employees of the City of Chula Vista in support of Miesfeld’s  campaign, including the Association of Chula Vista Employees and the Chula Vista Mid-Managers/Professional Association.

Bart Miesfeld earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from SDSU and his Juris Doctorate Degree, Magna Cum Laude, from California Western School of Law, here in San Diego.  He went on to complete a postgraduate program of instruction at Harvard Law School.  After working as a trial attorney with a large private law firm, Bart joined the Chula Vista City Attorney’s office and quickly rose through the ranks, eventually being appointed the City Attorney by the Chula Vista City Council and Mayor. Throughout his 20-year career in the City Attorney’s Office, Bart worked hard to safeguard taxpayer resources and to improve quality of life for Chula Vista residents.

Outside of his work as Chula Vista City Attorney, Bart has been passionate about helping students achieve academic and professional success, which led him to become an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of San Diego.
