Chula Vista, CA — Former Chula Vista City Attorney Bart Miesfeld has received the endorsement of the Southern California Rental Housing Association, in the race for Chula Vista City Attorney on March 5th.

In response to the endorsement, Miesfeld stated, “I am incredibly proud of how our campaign has been able to bring so many different groups, with varying policy priorities, together in pursuit of steady, competent leadership at City Hall. In these divisive times, it is heartening to know that so many different labor groups, community members, bi-partisan leaders, and business groups like the Southern California Rental Housing Association, all agree that experience matters at City Hall. I look forward to continuing to build consensus and collaboration as Chula Vista’s next City Attorney.”
The endorsement from the Southern California Rental Housing Association adds to a diverse coalition of public safety officials, labor groups, and business organizations supporting Miesfeld’s campaign, including the Latino American Political Association, former Chula Vista Fire Chief Jim Geering, former Chula Vista Police Chief David Bejarano, former Superior Court Judge Luis Vargas, the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters, the Association of Chula Vista Employees, the Chula Vista Police Officers Association, and the Deputy Sheriffs Association of San Diego County.
Bart Miesfeld earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from SDSU and his Juris Doctorate Degree, Magna Cum Laude, from California Western School of Law, here in San Diego. He went on to complete a postgraduate program of instruction at Harvard Law School. After working as a trial attorney with a large private law firm, Bart joined the Chula Vista City Attorney’s office and quickly rose through the ranks, eventually being appointed the City Attorney by the Chula Vista City Council and Mayor. Throughout his 20-year career in the City Attorney’s Office, Bart worked hard to safeguard taxpayer resources and to improve quality of life for Chula Vista residents.
Outside of his work as Chula Vista City Attorney, Bart has been passionate about helping students achieve academic and professional success, which led him to become an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of San Diego.
